• We abide in Christ by trusting Him as Savior and by being obedient to His commandments (John 15:10; 1 John 3:24)

• Christ has commanded us to “love one another, just as I have loved you.” (John 15:12; 1 John 3:23)

• Christ has taught us that “greater love has no one that this, that one lay down his life (his personal assets, preferences, and desires) for his friends and neighbors.” (John 15:13)

• The promise of obedience is that His joy (calm delight) will be in us and that our joy will be full. (John 15:11)

• Our neighbors in our communities have a complexity of spiritual, intellectual/emotional, and physical requirements that will benefit from loving attention and support.

A “good deed or work” intended to meet the requirements of our neighbors is one that is consistent with and supportive of God’s Truth and pleasing to Him.
